The Fall of Adam - James Jarjou
Dear Saints,
Below is an article I wrote concerning our work with Christ in relation to Adam.
THE FALL OF ADAM: A LESSON FOR SAINTS
“Nevertheless I have [somewhat] against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” (Revelation 2v4-7).
The body of man, is an instrument which is dictated by spiritual forces; either the power of darkness or the power of the kingdom of Light. This is what determines, the fruits of the character; it is determined by which of the powers we submit to.
Back at the beginning, before the fall of Adam and Eve, they where filled with the inward practical knowledge, of the practical goodness, of the purity of the Eternal God in all holiness and righteousness.
They had both inward practical knowledge, and the fruits of the knowledge of the tree of Life within there lives. There was the fulfillment of both the letter and the spirit, the law of “Moses” and the Law of Christ, all within them. The inward knowledge they had reveals the danger of partaking the forbidden tree. They had the outward knowledge of the evil of the forbidden tree but they knew not what it means to partake in true inward practical knowledge of the forbidden tree, before the fall. There was innocence.
Before the fall, they had true inward knowledge of the tree of Life, and an outward knowledge of the tree of good and bad, but in the fall it is the reverse, they had the outward knowledge of the tree of life while they had a practical inward knowledge of the tree of the knowledge of good and bad. This is the mystery of the fall which work in the hearts of the once enlighten Children of God, it is always a reverse, a forsaking of the first Love. It is outward knowledge without Life, it works in diverse ways and measures in all of us, to divert us from practical Truth, yet that is the realm of the fall, the falling away from the simple inward Faith.
The tree of Life will build and gives us the Heavenly Character; or the fruits of the spirit, while partaking of the forbidden tree will just build head knowledge of Spiritual Truths, no life, and just mere confession. This is the spirit which is more deceptive than the pharisaical spirit. It is that which speaks like a lamb because of former Lights, the spirit which was in Judas; that which betray the inward Light of Christ.
The Pharisees got the outward knowledge of the Letter, but they were never born of the spirit, never knew true inward knowledge through inward revelation. The children of Light easily discern them today, but the most deceptive ones are those that were once enlightened and knew what it means to hear Gods voice, but went back into the fall, in forsaking their first love.
When the Children of Light like Adam forsake their first Love, they have all subtle outward knowledge to cover their nakedness, because they know right well how to use spiritual phrases to cover their nakedness. They must have something, do something, to keep their name- their lost inheritance. It does not matter again whether they are in lust, anger, hatred, envy, malice, lies, carnality, covetousness etc. No, this does not strike them again, there conscience is seared, it is just a seeking of justification through outward head knowledge, not the justification that comes through faith in hearing and obeying the voice of Christ within.
In the natural, when an intelligent man and woman marry, their children are likely to be intelligent too. This proves the fact that outward intelligence can have a link with the genes of the parent though all gifts are sure to come from God. This takes us back to the beginning. Now, when Adam and Eve fell from their first Love into the dominion of the forbidden tree, they lost the true inward knowledge of the eternal being, but their brain was able to keep the form or picture of the likeness of this knowledge, in an outward form, though now dimly because of the badness that comes from the fruit of the forbidden tree. This outward knowledge of the lost communion was later passed into all the offspring of Adam and Eve though not in the same exact measure through the genes. This is the Light of God in a very tiny measure through the conscience, which is able to reveal the moral Law of Moses (Romans 2v13-16). We can even find that even many Pagans will agree with us that gross sins like stealing, adultery, robbery, murder are wrong. This is not natural; it is a history of a knowledge that comes through a lost communion.
Likewise in the spiritual, when the Children of Light forsake there first love, the outward knowledge of this spiritual experience is always retained in forms, through the interpretation of the brain. This is where the deception comes in, it is a saying of words which appear right and spiritual but they come from the fall, a rotten tree.
This is also, where the enemy works to deceive us , he knows that we are not different from him if we only have this outward knowledge of spiritual truth in forms in the brain, what he fears is a practical working of those Truth within. He will have us divided through mere words and differences in interpretations of spiritual truths in scriptures but he will have us divided because of our stand of Truth, in all practical holiness and righteousness, forsaking all Lies.
It is time to turn inward and ask the Spirit of Holiness to search our hearts, and reveal all rottenness within and purify and destroy this though the Holy fire. Back to the first Love, first works through the works ordered by the spirit of Holiness. The joy and the surrendered heart in the first day of conversion comes from the first Love, it should increase not decrease. There is still mercy today and HE has things HE has prepared for us if we will come back, and forsake our hypocrisy and our idle religious games. Out from the fall, Adam is dead in Christ but only as we cling on Christ, not outside Christ. He knows all our frames and weakness but this is were HIS strength is revealed, HE comes to call sinners to repentance , which is a turning away from a Life centered on Self to a Life governed by the Spirit of Holiness. Today is the day of Salvation, tomorrow might be late. All wrong the Spirit reveals in us needs to be settled now. Amen.

Anybody hungry yet...?
...Let's look at Heb. 5:10-12. "Being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food." Hunger prompts us to eat. Although we may not understand all the natural digestive processes, and are not conscious of them, the food still benefits us. We grow because we eat and exercise. We do this naturally, without any formula, special schooling, and striving.
That is also the way it is spiritually. If we have a good appetite we will eat freely of the bread of life; if we exercise by obeying God's directives, we will grow spiritually. We cannot grow by our own efforts. Jesus said that it is impossible for a man to add a cubit (about 18 inches) to his stature. No amount of trying will do it. This is true in the spiritual realm as well. However, those who are on milk are dependent on the breast. They cannot feed themselves because they are dependent on someone else. There is an immaturity, an inability to digest regular food when being fed on the breast. Those who are spiritually immature will depend upon the law to guide them in their do's and don'ts; they are not led by the Holy Spirit.
In verse 14 it says, "But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil." The mentality of many Christians is often only concerned with discerning evil things - like finding demons, reasons for sickness, etc. How about discerning spiritual strengths and needs? For example, discerning where someone is in Christ, and in which areas he needs to be built up? Let's not dwell on the evil; the devil's food is flesh! It's important to be able to discern the good and evil which is contained in the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Only in disobedience could they eat of that tree. This good and evil is religiosity; we are not to be preoccupied with this. Let's partake of the tree of life, and walk in the newness of this life!...
How are we doing so far....?
...God wants us to understand that His love surpasses knowledge! This is necessary in order to be filled up to all the fullness of God! (Eph. 3:19) What a fullness God has in store for us! He fills us with His love - with the same self-sacrificing, life-giving love He has! Not only His kind of love, but the same fullness! This love cannot be understood by comparing and analyzing the Greek words which describe His love, for they cannot communicate His love to us; they only give us knowledge, but not relationship. We have to be shaken loose from our idea that God's love is only a greater measure of human love. It isn't that at all! Human love is self-centered and dependent on how we are treated by others. God's love is entirely different and completely NEW to us! His love does not depend upon our reciprocation of that love. His love does not spring from a need to have it nurtured. God IS love! It flows out of Him because He is love! Only in Christ can we get to know the love of God! Therefore it could not be known before Christ came. The love of God brings us a new concept of the love He has poured into our hearts!
Jesus came to save lives - not to destroy them! He loved even when He was hated! Jesus demonstrated this at a time when He was heading for Jerusalem, and had sent messengers ahead to make arrangements for their stay in a village in Samaria. But when the Samaritans found out Jesus was going to Jerusalem, they would not receive Him. So the disciples got angry at them and said to Jesus, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them as Elijah did?" Jesus answered, "You do not know what kind of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them." (Luke 9:54-56) His purpose for coming has not changed; He still comes to save men's souls!...

Do You Know....?
...Jesus Christ is the Word. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. When the Word was crucified, His flesh was broken or rent. This was typified by the tearing of the curtain in the temple. The risen Word has been disrobed of its flesh! It released Jesus Christ to come to us so that we could be joined to Him spiritually! It is the carnal mind that is at enmity with God, "...for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God." (Rom. 8:7-8) Most of Christianity does not understand that. Unless the Spirit gives life to the Word, it remains in death. The religious systems are in death and function in the death realm. The church will have to learn that we no longer know Christ according to the flesh. (2 Cor. 5:16)
Do you know that Jesus Christ can still be crucified today? If we don't allow His life to permeate our mind and body, we are putting Him to death, keeping Him in prison and depriving Him of food and drink! (See Matt. 25:34-46) Jesus is giving us a spiritual lesson here. He said that He was hungry, and some gave Him something to eat; He was thirsty and some gave Him water; He was a stranger and some invited Him in; He was naked and some clothed Him; He was sick and some visited Him; He was in prison and some came to Him. How did they do that? They found Christ in the people they met. They sought people out and brought life to them in the area of their need! This is what we are to do also!
We need to know Jesus Christ! He is the truth - so NOTHING else can be the truth. He is not a system of laws, works, or doctrines. He alone is the truth! As we bring truth to people, we are bringing them life! We need to know where Christ is in the lives of people so that we can help them come into life. If we don't allow Christ to rule our thoughts and minds, we are not allowing Him to give life to His word. This is the same as putting Him to death, or keeping Him in prison, or keeping Him hungry and thirsty. Some have put Him to death - He has no life in them. They may speak words that sound good, but their words are empty of life. Some have Jesus in the prison of their minds, their thoughts, their doctrines. They are holding on to their false ideas and won't allow truth to free them! That is how religious systems crucify Jesus Christ...
Whose Voice Are We Hearing?
We should seriously consider the following quote, examining our own hearts - and the fruit we are producing:
".... The Bible says we shall know those who labor among us. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me... And a stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him..." (John 10:27,5) The true sheep will not follow a false shepherd. God has a way of eliminating false shepherds by means of the sheep. The reason many false shepherds have large followings is because their followers do not know the voice of the true shepherd!
"But we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom, which God predestined before the ages to our glory." (1 Cor. 2:7) Paul spoke the wisdom, which was before the foundation of the world - before man received the thinking and nature of the serpent. We should also be speaking that wisdom! Speaking of mysteries, we know there is a mystery of godliness and a mystery of lawlessness, darkness, or iniquity. (1 Tim. 3:16; 2 Thess. 2:7) Paul said that none of the rulers understood the mystery; if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (v.8) They lacked true understanding, and this resulted in the crucifixion of our Lord. Mysteries have to be revealed by someone who knows the answer - and only the Lord knows the answer! Light reveals the things hidden by darkness; it causes us to see and understand. It reveals the darkness that is in us; it shows us that the Adamic man is the man of sin, that lawlessness is disobedience to God, and that everything that is not of God is in the realm of darkness!
The only way we can recognize the false is by knowing the true. If we only have lies, we think our lies are truth, and we have no way of determining that they are lies. A true dollar bill will identify a counterfeit - it reveals the counterfeit! A true standard of measure reveals a false one. Only revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ can open our eyes to darkness, Satan, deceit, etc. Knowledge of truth will reveal the lies - everything that is false. Studying the false (Satan, demons, darkness, sin and evil) in order to know the truth, only gets us into trouble; it does not give us truth. Many people do not know that, so they are busy studying the false."

OUR UNION WITH CHRIST - James Jarjou
OUR UNION WITH CHRIST
by James Jarjou
“The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.” (John 4v19-24).
God is a spirit, HE is everywhere at the same time. HE occupies all space but HE is one in HIMSELF, who cannot be perfectly described, because HE is not limited to anything. He cannot be measured, yet anywhere HE reveals or executes HIS will is a full manifestation of HIMSELF, not in HIS quantity, but in quality.
He can be measured in quality, but not in quantity for no space can carry HIM, like in a box, for HE is always everywhere and always somewhere. HE is a spirit that can only be worshipped in Spirit and Truth.
HIS manifestation to HIS creatures, Angelic, departed saints or humans, depends on the realm or dimension the Creature is in. Yet to know HIM, all HIS creation must worship HIM in Spirit and Truth.
God has different names, which are used in the Human language to express HIS diverse qualities. There is an external knowledge of these names in the human language but there is an internal knowledge of the practical reality of the working of these names, within the hearts of men. No one is justified who knows only the external names of God, without a practical internal working of the reality of those names within the heart.
One of the External human name of God is JESUS, but until the mystery and the reality of the practical reality of the Name JESUS, which means to save HIS people from their sins, becomes a practical reality within the heart, in transforming sinful adamic flesh to victorious righteous holy living daily, it means nothing. It is just an empty professing, calling HIM, “Lord, Lord” just to be condemned on the Last day as a worker of iniquity.
The name of the Father must be written and made real in our forehead (the mind of Christ which comes as a result of Union with God ).
God as a spirit desires that, all adamic and angelic race be filled with HIS image in fullness from the beginning. The image is the Holy nature of God, the absence of all that is unlike HIS nature or holiness. It is not the possession of HIS full infinite Knowledge that HE calls us to. There is an inward knowledge through revelation, God uses to communicate to HIS children; this brings in Faith within to possess our possession in HIM.
Every inward revelation has an external human language, which can be used to express the divine language of the spirit in a human way. It is still possible to hear things through inward revelation yet the instrument might lack human language to express them, yet another soul might express them better, by the gift of the spirit.
Some times children of God, ague over things they unknowingly agree on in spirit, but the outward interpretation in the human language of this spiritual truth is what brings the differences. This does not disqualify the truth that, there is correct human language that can be used to describe internal spiritual Language through the gift of the spirit. The book of revelation is a perfect example of a description of internal spiritual truths through the use of human language or types.
The Life of Jesus Christ as the Son of God on Earth is the only and perfect pattern that defines, our perfect Union with God. There was the Human part of Christ and also the divinity part, all in HIM in HIS day in Israel. HE was both God and man. A type and a picture of the full reconciliation of Gods perfect will for fallen men; which is a perfect Union through communion with HIM. HIS human part is a type of our weak human nature.
HIS human part was not different from any of us because he knew what it meant to be tired, hungry, learn etc., and tempted though without Sin. HE was sinless because HIS human part was submitted to the divine power which was in HIM all though his Life on earth. HE was called the Son of God, because HIS life was a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Lesson to Learn About Our Union with God -Using the Life of Jesus Christ on Earth.
The divinity or those qualities, which are God himself were in HIM in his days in Israel, as a prepare a body which HE filled with HIS fullness; yet that body was not able to contain HIM in quantity because though HE was in Israel walking as man yet HE was everywhere, but outside that human body.
A human body is limited, but HE as a spirit is not limited to anything though He can be manifested in all things. The quantity speaks of HIM as the father who is all knowing and everywhere but the quality speak of HIM as the Son who was limited in the body and must learn from the Father, HIS divine unlimited nature which was in HIM . The physical body was not able to contain all HIS quantities to be just limited to one place.
It is amazing that our religious view see JESUS as just a physical person who must be limited by natural laws since HE cannot be everywhere at the same time.
Our natural mind tells us that a physical body is more real than a spirit , so to say JESUS is a spirit is to reduce HIM, but this is because of the realm we are speaking of, the in part. The truth remain God is a Spirit and JESUS is God.
Great was the day, when I was helped to see that even the saints in paradise worship JESUS in magnificent glory of unspeakable joy in spirit and truth, not as a limited man sitting somewhere. Is this not the reason that many sinful men sing songs and claim they are worshiping God though they do not know true inward worship in Spirit and Truth but in falsehoods and lies?
It helps me understand a little that some of the things we divide and separate our selves from are just images the Lord uses to communicate with us, since we are in the body. This brings in humility because when we realize that it is not knowledge but the working of the Truth of Christ in us which justifies us. It is not HIS quantity but HIS quality we are called in to possess IN FULLNESS.
Looking unto the Life of JESUS in his earthly days as the Son of God make some important point below:
1. Jesus as the Son of God who was the fullness of God in all HIS quality in HIS body was not all knowing, that is the human part in HIS body. He has to depend on the father and told us only the father knows the day and the hour of the end of all things. This is a picture showing us that as Sons of God our perfection into the fullness of Christ does not mean we will be all knowing. We must daily depend on the Father as our Guide. We cannot grow to any stage that we will stop learning and leaning upon the Father for guidance. We must be brought to many manifold trials in which we will be tempted to doubt were HE is leading us, yet we must know HE knows what HE is doing. As we grow the more HE will allow us to walk in valleys of many nights of darkness where our only safety is to be still and wait for HIS salvation. We will be tempted to murmur or do things HE never ordered us to do. The Sons of God must learn how to grow and cry “father not my will, understanding, feeling etc but your perfect will be done”.
Even the waiting of the execution of Gods will requires patience whether the will is nice or offensive to our human nature.
Whatsoever God allow HIS Sons to pass through, is working in HIS will and if they will accept it in the good trials of Faith, then it is true worship; and they will know the true peace which passes all understanding as they submit to the will of God.
2. The Fathers is greater than the Son. This reveals our calling and inheritance in Christ. We are called to grow into the fullness of the Son (quality in HIS nature ) but not the father (we can not be equal in HIS quantity , who is all knowing, creator of all neither can we be everywhere at the same time ). This shows that God does not condemn us because we lacks some of HIS quantities (gifts of the spirit ) but we will be condemned on the last day because we have not HIS quality (HIS holiness ). Amen.

True Wisdom - Lloyd Ellefson
True Wisdom
By Lloyd Ellefson
Most Christians readily agree with the scriptures in regard to God's care of them, and their need to go to Him in time of trouble. They know He has the ability to help them in every area of their lives, whether it be spiritually, physically or financially. But in actuality, how many Christians practice their confession? As soon as things become difficult, they worry and look for the help that is available in the world.
"Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." (Matt. 7:21) The kingdom of heaven is a spiritual kingdom, and it is within us. His kingdom rule comes to us inwardly! It does not come through commandments. The state of our health, of our financial situation and institutions have anything to do with it. It only comes to us in the Holy Spirit!
Jesus said that many will try to impress Him with their importance - their prophecies, their exorcisms in His name, and their performance of miracles! Then Jesus will say to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness." (Matt. 7:23) In other words, they were busy doing, but they were not doing the things that come out of a relationship with Him - the things that produce life! He never knew them.
In scriptural usage, when a man knew his wife, it meant that they had a relationship that brought about reproduction. For example, Abraham knew Sarah so that reproduction could take place. So when Christ knows us, He reproduces Himself in us and we are conformed to His image. This is brought about by our faith in God. The more faith we have in God, the less faith we have in ourselves and in natural things.
Although many call Christ their Lord, He is lord in name only. Christ is not being reproduced in them. Their faith is of short duration - a little temptation or a little problem is enough to cause their faith to disappear. Suddenly their faith in natural things is stronger than their faith in God. Many of us have experienced this. When God doesn't answer our prayers and things get worse, what do we do? We get desperate and think God will never answer our prayers! This should not happen in the life of a Christian, because God is always faithful!
Jesus also experienced difficulties, but His faith in His Father never wavered! His spirit never gave up on God. There was never the slightest doubt in His mind about God's faithfulness. He could rely on God to accomplish His work!
So often we want God to be our servant instead of our Lord; we want to tell Him what to do. Jesus did not do that; He did not initiate His own works. He only did what the Father told Him to do! That is why He could trust the Father to do His work. If we let God initiate the work He wants us to do, we know He will also accomplish it, regardless of the difficulties involved.
Jesus illustrated what He meant by relating a parable about a wise man and a foolish man. "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.' Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock." (vv.23-24)
Because of the therefore we see that hearing His words and doing them, does not consist of works of faith, like prophesying, casting out demons or doing miracles. Nor does it consist of addressing Christ as Lord. He is looking for something more important than words and deeds! These people were calling Him Lord, but they were practicing lawlessness and works of iniquity. While they looked like mighty people of God in the eyes of men, they were not doing the will of God. They were practicing deception in their works and wonders, and in calling Him Lord. They were missing the mark. That is why He did not know them.
Those who hear and act upon the words of Jesus are wise! Jesus compared them to a wise man who builds his house on a rock. But those who hear and do not act on the words of Jesus are foolish! They are compared to a foolish man who builds his house on a foundation of sand. They based God's acceptance of them on their works, and did not realize that their hearts' attitude was wrong. They thought their works were making them righteous. Although they were doing good things, like prophesying, casting out demons, and calling Jesus LORD, Jesus never knew them. Since they were practicing lawlessness, they lacked obedience. So there was deception or lack of truth. Because they drew attention to their works, they were trusting in their works instead of in God. They enjoyed receiving glory from people!
A house is the place where people live. It portrays our dwelling place in relationship to God and His Spirit. These people had a certain level of truth, for no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit. However, they were using truth to receive glory for themselves.
We can say that we have been born again, filled with the Spirit, and agree that Jesus has come in the Spirit and that heaven is within us, without living in the faith of it. We can give nodding assent to the fact that God is good, that He loves us and that He has infinite power, without believing it when we are put to the test. If we really believe these things, we will not be frightened or worry about the future. But if we do not believe the truth which we have received, we are not living in union with God - in union with the truth!
Jesus said to Peter, "On this rock I will build My church." The church is the body of Christ, the household of God, the ecclesia, the called-out ones. They are called out of this world to live in Christ while they are in this world. The church is built on the rock, the revelation of who Jesus Christ is!
"And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock." (v.25) The rain, floods and winds, depict the judgments or trials that show whether the house has the correct foundation. They test our relationship with God. When trials and temptations come, and we continue in our faith in God, we are believing and firmly trusting in the love of God. Our relationship with God is in the unseen realm, so trials and difficulties are needed to reveal the actuality of our relationship or its absence.
When the kingdom of God is within us, the rule of God is within us. If His rule is established and settled within us, nothing will move us off the rock! Our relationship with Christ is a constant ascending into a greater revelation knowledge of Him. It is not a resting in past revelation, but a growth in faith and trust that results in a deepening love relationship and security!
When people do not understand the rule of the kingdom, they become established in dogmas - a set of beliefs that is authoritatively affirmed. Church history reveals this. As Christianity flourished, it didn't take long until men moved out of faith and into organization. When Christianity, established by Constantine, was accepted by the world, it began to fall away from the kingdom of God. People began to polarize around dogmas. Polarization (to cause to gather about two opposite points) always brings division and discord. So Christians began to fight each other.
"Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand." (Matt. 7:26) We are to hear His words! Hearing His words does not mean that we are to have doctrines about Him, and behavior codes for ourselves. It has nothing to do with church attendance and involvement in its programs. Christ's basic concern is that we hear His words and believe them, even as He heard the Father and believed the Father! The Father's love was real to Him, and it is also to be real to us! This brings us into a fearlessness of man!
Adversity reveals the strength of the foundation! The foolish man's house could not stand against the trials it had to face! "The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell - and great was its fall." There is a difference between the foolish man and the natural man. The foolish man does not act on what he has heard; the natural man cannot even hear what the Spirit of God says, for it is foolishness to him! So Christians can be foolish. This example portrays a Christian who has heard Christ's words but has not acted on them. Those who have not heard are just ignorant. This man was not receiving the spiritual life that comes with hearing spiritual truth!
The exterior of the foolish man's house looks identical to the wise man's house; the activities of the foolish man appear identical to the wise man's - they are both involved in good works. But the foolish man's house collapses when trials come because it is not built on the rock - the revelation of who Christ Jesus is!
We see this all the time. Trials and testings come against the house that we have built. The house that is built on man's ideas needs to be demolished. That is the best thing that could happen to it! It is not enough to know that we should not be angry and unloving; we need the energy and life to be loving! The idea that knowing good and evil will change us, has to be eradicated!
The house that is built on Christ will not be demolished; it will only be tested! A wise man has more than the knowledge of good and evil; he has life, and life gives energy! It gives us the wisdom to apply knowledge correctly; it subjects knowledge to wisdom!
Knowledge is often in subjection to lusts and emotions. We know what we should or shouldn't do, but the energy to do the good is not in us. Even Paul experienced this. He said that when he wanted to do good, his flesh prevented him from doing what he wanted to do. (Rom. 7:14-25) We can know the Bible - know that Jesus died on the cross and that our sins are forgiven, yet not live by this knowledge. Natural knowledge cannot make us overcomers when trials and temptations come our way. Our house has to be built on the revelation knowledge of who Christ is! This revelation knowledge of the living Christ is the rock of our foundation!
The parable of the virgins going out to meet the bridegroom, also contrasts the wise and the foolish. (Matthew 25) The kingdom of heaven is compared to ten virgins - five wise and five foolish. Since the kingdom of heaven is within us, this parable applies to what is going on within us. If we are oblivious to the Spirit, we will apply this parable to the natural. But the basic emphasis is on the wise and the foolish. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God; the work of the Holy Spirit in the spiritual man is considered to be foolishness to the natural man.
Christ compared the kingdom of heaven to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. They are not the bride, but they have, or think they have, a relationship with the bridegroom that would entitle them to attend the celebration. The word virgin has nothing to do with gender; a virgin can be either male or female. Spiritually, it is a place in the spirit where no adulterous relationship has occurred.
The virgins knew the bridegroom was coming, but they didn't know exactly when. The word bridegroom reminds us of a wedding. A marriage indicates that a union is taking place. In this parable, five of the ten virgins going to meet the bridegroom are wise, and five are foolish. So we want to see why five are wise and why the others are foolish.
"For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent (wise) took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep." (vv.3-5) Since the wise took extra oil, it is quite obvious that wisdom prompted them to take the extra oil. Oil produces light in the lamp. The oil is the energy to bring light, and light brings understanding.
The wise virgins acted upon the insight they had received. Only the Word of God can produce light in our lamps! The wise virgins had received enough understanding from their association with the law so they could meet the bridegroom.
The foolish virgins had not been wise enough to understand what had been spoken to them, so they didn't take the extra oil. For a while they walked with those who could meet the bridegroom, but they could not follow because they were foolish; they didn't have enough oil or wisdom. For example, Abraham and Lot walked together for awhile. But a separation had to occur because Lot did not have as much faith as Abraham had.
This shows us the importance of a relationship with Christ! The bridegroom's coming had been announced, and His coming is the coming of the Spirit - and the Lord is the Spirit! (2 Cor. 3:17) Both the wise and the foolish were waiting for him. Jesus taught a principle which can be applied, both to those whose faith is in the law written on tablets of stone and to those who have the law written on their hearts. In Psalm 119:105 we read, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path." Understanding what the law teaches, prepares us for the coming of the bridegroom.
"But at midnight there was a shout, `Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'" (Matt. 25:6) Who announced the bridegroom? Wasn't it John the Baptist who proclaimed the coming of the bridegroom? (Jn. 3:29) John the Baptist was not the true light, but he brought a witness of the true light. (Jn.1:9) John was a temporary light, proclaiming the coming of Jesus, the Messiah. He called people to repentance in preparation for Christ's coming.
Those who had light and understanding from the law could meet the bridegroom. They had enough wisdom to understand the teaching of the law; they realized that the law could not bring them into the righteousness of God. They recognized their need to come out of the law, the place where they were living, to meet the bridegroom. An intimate relationship with Him is impossible without repentance on our part. We need to repent of our wrong ideas so that we can receive the truth! Only the true light, the coming of Jesus Christ into the world, can enlighten every man!
The bridegroom is Christ! He is truth! Christ is an Old Testament and a New Testament word. Christ cannot be seen. In the Old Testament He came in types and shadows; in the New Testament He was veiled by the flesh. When He came in the Spirit He was still in the unseen realm. Because He is unseen, many types are needed to represent Him. He did not come into being when He was born of Mary. He was the Son of Man who came down from heaven! So He was in heaven before He came to this earth. He was in the prophets; He was the Lamb slain from the disruption of the world!
Once we see Christ as spiritual truth, we recognize the various stages of revelation God released to man by the things He did. The stage of the law was to bring us to repentance. If it does not produce repentance in us, we will remain in the natural man. The preaching of the cross and repentance is foolishness to those who perish. They cannot understand why they should have to repent. Jesus was killed because people did not understand their need to repent.
"Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the prudent (wise), `Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the prudent answered, `No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'" (vv.7-9) The law is a "buy for yourself", isn't it? Since the five foolish virgins had to buy oil, they were too late to meet the bridegroom.
"And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut." (v.10) It does not say whether these virgins were women or men, does it? Gender has nothing to do with it. They had a virgin spirit; they had not had a relationship with false religions.
"Later the other virgins also came, saying, `Lord, lord, open up for us.' But he answered, `Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.`" (vv.11-12) They couldn't come in because they lacked wisdom: Christ, the bridegroom did not know them! Their heart's attitude did not lend itself to having a true relationship with the bridegroom. Christ did not know them because they were not ready to enter into a relationship with Him who is the truth and the life!
So He said, "Be on the alert, then, for you do not know the day nor the hour." (v.13) Day refers to light and understanding. Jesus is the bridegroom, and He called Himself the Son of Man. Therefore the Son of Man is the bridegroom. But the Jews did not know that. To understand that Christ came as a spiritual man in the image of God, we need to have wisdom in regard to what we have heard. Calling Jesus LORD, without having a relationship with Him, has no meaning. It does not ensure admittance if He does not know us. Relationship is vital in our union with Christ.
The law cast a light upon man's true condition. It was an illumination of what sin is, for "Through the law is the knowledge of sin." Man was in complete darkness in regard to his condition with God; he did not know that he was a sinner. The law was was not meant to be permanent; it was temporary, given about 400 years after Abraham. It was to show people their lack of a relationship with God; they only had a relationship with the earth and with sin. If they didn't believe what the law was showing them, they would justify themselves, set up their own righteousness, and continue in their self-righteous way. They didn't have the wisdom to know that they could cry for mercy to a loving Savior. Therefore they could not receive what God wanted to give them. These attitudes are still prevalent today.
We read, "For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples...For this reason it says, `Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise...So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is...Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed." (Isaiah 60:2; Eph. 5:14-15,17; Rom. 13:11)
People are in a deep sleep. It bothers God when people try to deal with sin on their own. Overcoming sin necessitates a correction of our ideas and attitudes toward God. This change of attitude reveals that God is our Master. Recognizing that God knows everything and that we don't know anything, is wisdom. Recognizing that we are to believe Him and obey Him is wisdom. Obedience to Him is our service to Him. Thinking that God is to serve us is foolishness.
Man's thinking is completely opposite to God's. Man uses psychology to tell people who God is, who they are, what the cause of their problems is, and how to correct them. Natural man's faith in God is as a leaf in the wind. It is based on his knowledge of psychology and how to use it to correct himself, and how to function in a given situation. Testimonies are used to prove that it really works. This is really sad. But God has a way of gathering people to Himself!
Error attracts people, and causes them to congregate around that error. But God has not ceased working! He has never paused in His redemption of sinful man. Jesus Christ has been proceeding with His program of building the church. His plan is unfolding just as He has purposed!
However, people do not subject themselves to what God is doing in their lives. They try to subject themselves to what God has done in the past. They want Christ to come back to earth instead of wanting Him to bring them up to where He is. They do not understand that He has come back in the Holy Spirit, and that His coming in the Spirit is more advantageous to everyone than a physical appearance. In the Spirit He can indwell everyone, leading and guiding them constantly. A union has taken place, so there is no waiting in line; there is no break in the connection!
The revelation of what He has already done is wonderful! But wisdom recognizes that there is also progression in revelation. There is more than meets the eye! The man who built his house on the rock recognized that building a house on the many ideas of man was useless. The foolish man does not receive anything beyond man's ideas. He lacks the wisdom to know that the law is not enough!
We need to walk in the wisdom and revelation we have now and know that God has more revelation for us. Camping on the camp ground of a certain revelation produces denominations and stagnation. Since we have a new nature we need new food; we need spiritual food, and Christ is that food! It is foolishness to feast on the knowledge of the old man. As we feast on the bounty Christ has for us, we will grow in faith and be secure in Him!
True wisdom knows the difference between shadows and reality; between a dead image and the living Christ! Foolishness does not. For example, instead of understanding that Christ is the tree of life, people have substituted the Christmas tree because its needles remain green. The Israelites worshiped false gods under every green tree. We have Christ, the tree of life! Let's not worship the false instead of the true! Days also have people in bondage. The practice of having a day for the Lord is not wrong, but it has become something else. We are not taking a day for the Lord, but the day is controlling us, isn't it? We don't want to live in the shadows of things to come; we want the reality!
May we all be blessed of the Lord by receiving His wisdom! In fact, He is our wisdom! "But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, `Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:31-32)
God bless you. Amen.

It's Time To Change Out Our Filters !
It’s Time To Change Out Our Filters!
There has never been a time in the history of the world like the hour we are now in. For years, in His grace and mercy, God has been telling His Own to “Prepare.” How do we do this? The thing that Father has been quickening to me over the past 2 years sounds simple… ‘Let go and let God.’ But as any who have tried to do this have discovered, it is not even possible to do in our own strength and understanding.
We are all familiar with the necessity of changing the filters in our furnace and cars, to keep them running properly. Well, we are all in dire need of having the filters in our minds changed out, and replaced with the ‘mind of Christ.’ The more immersed in religion we become, the more complex system of religious filters are installed in our thinking. Accumulating knowledge is a necessary and integral part of the human life, in order to survive in this world.
However, if we are following Christ; if we have received the incorruptible seed; we are now members of the household of God… and now we must learn to live our lives according to an entirely new set of rules. No longer can we live according to our own thoughts and inclinations; our fleshly appetites, opinions or prejudices. The majority of believers are imprisoned by their own religious thinking. Religion sets up filters to process everything that crosses your path. Religion puts ‘God’ in a box. We are trained to see ourselves in a certain light, (i.e. the redeemed, the called and chosen, the heirs of Christ destined to rule and reign), while at the same time judging everyone outside of our little group as being not quite up to par. We are trained to be suspicious and judgmental, even unconsciously comparing ourselves to others; their perspective to ours. This should not be….‘For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise’ 2 Cor 10:12.
Do you believe that when God looks down on the earth, He sees all the denominations men has built according to their own understanding… or does He see 'HIS CHILDREN,' without all the walls of separation we have erected that divide us one from another? Do we imagine that heaven is segregated into religious camps? If not, then why do we behave that way here and now?
We are all familiar with John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life’. But how many of us are equally familiar with 1 John 3:16 ‘Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren’.
Jesus came to fulfill the law. When we say that we are not under the law, but under the new covenant, then I would ask you what is ‘new’ in the new covenant? The only thing new is this… John 13:34 ‘A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.’
I pray that we willingly submit to the rod of correction in our own lives, instead of trying to set everyone else straight. As we humble ourselves before God, He will bring up every secret thing hidden in our hearts that is not pleasing in HIS sight. Every wrong thought and wrong attitude we are carrying around in us will be exposed and brought forth to the light of correction. We will be conformed to His Image, not as we have imagined Him to be, but as He truly is.
Love – This is the crux of the matter. This is what separates the sheep from the goats; the wheat from the tares; the wise virgins from the foolish virgins.
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another” Gal 5:13.
“We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death” 1 John 3:14.
“Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord” Eph 5:6-10.
“For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread” 1 Cor 10:17.
How we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ reveals much more than we may realize. “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” John 3:19. We should be aware that in the things that we ‘do’ (our deeds), we are demonstrating either God’s love, or we are demonstrating evil (malice, hurtful, mischief)?
“For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” Mat 12:37. Our actions speak even louder than our words, for we can use words that might sound good to the carnal ear, even while maliciously attacking a brother or sister in the Lord over a difference of doctrine or belief. How we hear depends upon our filters, and we need to have our filters changed. “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind,” Eph 4:23; “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you” Eph 4:29.
Jesus clearly told us that in this world we would have tribulation. But let us not be the source of tribulation to our brothers and sisters. Shouldn’t we be seeking that our own minds be renewed, instead of assuming that we have already arrived, as the religious spirits will staunchly affirm? If we can’t handle it when everyone doesn’t tell us how wonderful we are, we are not following Christ. If we go on the attack over differing points of view and doctrinal interpetation, we are not even remotely walking in love. Are we not charged to enter in to the new life in Christ... that suffering is how we are perfected? “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God” Acts 14:22.
The Church as it exists in the world today is splintered and divided, one against another. If what we see demonstrated is a representation of God, then one could only assume that He is spiteful, vindictive, critical, harsh, demanding self-centered and self serving, because these are the things the world sees manifested by those who call themselves ‘Christian.’ And it is religious thinking (mindsets) that allows this to exist, even flourish. Completely contrary to 1 Cor 1:10 “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” We have all manner of justifications and excuses for this, primarily being – “oh, but I didn’t mean it that way,” but none of them will hold up when we stand before a Righteous God. We can cling to our filters, and justify our own wrongdoing, or we can seek the light that will dispel all the darkness within our own hearts. And as this happens in us, we are changed, we are transformed in our inner man. We can submit, or we can resist. We can hold onto our clogged, dirty, polluted filters… or we can lay down all of our wants, our desires, our accumulated knowledge at His feet, in all humility.
Jesus said, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” John 17:3. We can settle for knowing things about God… or we can submit to the operations of the Spirit within our own heart, and allow HIM to cleanse us, molding and shaping us into a vessel of honor, that we need not be ashamed at His appearing. May we choose wisely.
Amen & Amen

Perception Is A Funny Thing…
Perception Is A Funny Thing…
Human perception is a very strange creature indeed. We can see when others are off base, but are totally blind to our own errors. It is so much easier to be a critic than to be an example, is it not?
When it comes to how we perceive our friends, our family, the world in general, we can all make countless astute observations, hold multitudes of opinions and theories, but to what end? Are we capable of bringing change for the better, based on our perceptions? When it comes to mankind, what is good to one person is abhorrent to another. We live in an every changing world of moral decay and shifting values. Who is there among us fit to decree right and wrong?
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9.
“The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things” Proverbs 15:28.
“An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin” Proverbs 21:4.
Depending upon our perception… we are adept at seeing error in others, while being willfully blind to the errors we hold. We excel at justifying our position and conduct, without a thought to the damage we are inflicting on others.
“Because with lies you have made the righteous sad and disheartened, whom I have not made sad or disheartened, and because you have encouraged and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way and be saved [in that you falsely promised him life], Therefore you will no more see false visions or practice divinations, and I will deliver My people out of your hand. Then you will know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord” Ezekiel 13:22-23.
We mistakenly ‘think’ that our doctrinal correctness makes the difference. That somehow we can separate the precious from the vile (Jer. 15:19) by studying the scriptures, and then go about passing judgment. How quickly we forget Romans 14:13 “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.” This morning I was led to find a website that is new to me. Consider the following:
[Perspective-
How we manage this undertaking called life depends upon our perspective of Life. For most of us, our focus is directed toward us; on making this life as comfortable, convenient and as painless as possible that we might prolong our lives for as long as possible. Consequently, since our perspective is on us, for us, about us, our faith about Who God Is and how He operates becomes enmeshed in that focal prism. How we perceive Him to Be is based largely on what our perspective dictates. If our focus is on us, then our faith becomes about how God, because He is Good, will arrange for good to happen to us in spite of what we do. We believe God will protect us by making pain, suffering and discomfiture disappear from us because we have confessed Him to be our Lord and Savior and He is Good. And, since we confess Him as such, we don't have to worry much about our actions because He, being good, has already forgiven our waywardness - even before any such waywardness occurs. Much oratory and writings have been sold, particularly over recent years, dedicated to this singular approach to the God of Creation that emphasizes doctrine about atonement - because it feels good to us to hear such words. However, scripture tends to paint a different picture.
For those of us who believe that God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we believe the Bible to be the container of the words of this God entrusted to the Hebrew people that we might come to know Him for Who HE says He is – to know the Nature and Character of His Essence. If we believe the words contained in these scriptures as being “breathed out by God” (translated as inspired from the Greek word theopneustos, meaning of God and a derivative of pneo meaning to breathe), then we must rely on those words to validate our perception of Who this God says He is. Words mean things and, if we are to understand the Essence of this Person, we must delve into the meanings of the words of scripture just for what they say – devoid of any traditional template we might try to impose upon them. When we do we will find, as Yeshua persistently tried to show us, those scriptures tend to paint a profile of Someone apart from what we have been traditionally taught - that the Father’s perspective about this brief, breath of a life we occupy is quite different from ours (Mark 7:9-13).
YHVH The Father knows we are all going to die, every one of us, regardless of our position, power or prominence – no matter how much we pray for Him to deliver us otherwise. Consequently, because He lives in eternity, He is more concerned with the eternality of our spirit than He is with the immediacy of our circumstance. The station our spirit occupies in eternity with Him is directly linked to the choices we make to cultivate our spirit to be like His while on this earth. We have been given this span called “life”, not to try to prolong it - but to make some choices within it that will determine our station in eternity, where He abides, with Him who is the Source of Life (Deuteronomy 30:19-20). It is an interesting observation to note that nowhere in the gospels does it say that Yeshua healed or delivered any of the disciples. He empowered them with Life so that they could impart that Life to others as He did. The "us" perspective wants the Father to heal "us", to deliver "us" as a means of "bailing us out" from inappropriate choices we have made apart from Who He Is.
“For thus says the High and Lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Isaiah 57:15
Humility is not something that comes naturally for any of us. The nature of man is to want to feel in control of circumstances. But that sense of control is merely an illusion. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Indeed, none of us are guaranteed the rest of today. That awareness is the first step toward humility. The Hebrew word for humble in this verse in Isaiah is shaphal and means to be low in station - either of condition or of spirit. Both James 4:6 and 1Peter 5:5 tell us the opposite of humility is pride, but they are both merely stating what they have learned of the Nature of the Father revealed in the original Book, the Torah (the Old Testament (Proverbs 3:34, Proverbs 22:4). They both continue to say in the lines that follow to "humble yourself". Both Peter (as referenced) and Paul (in Colossians 3:12-13) admonish us to "put on", to "clothe" ourselves in humility. This is something WE DO – just like when you clothe yourself every morning. It is a choice we make what we are to wear.
A disciple is one who actively bends his will toward God’s instruction (Matthew 16:24). Without obedience, without choosing to "follow through" with those instructions, nothing is learned. No matter how many times I tell my child how to do something, if he chooses to take no response to my directive, no instruction has occurred. This is why it is not possible to deepen our relationship with the Father until we learn – by obeying, by choosing to do – the lesson, the directive He has for us to learn today which is designed to lead us into the path of humility.
"You bring frail mortals to the point of being crushed, then say, "People, repent!" Isaiah 57:15 - CJB, KJV
"Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor," Proverbs 18:12.
Baptism of Fire It is precisely BECAUSE the Father is Good - that He knows eternal life (which is living in the Present Presence of the Eternal One Who is Life) is more important that the immediacy of the circumstance we find ourselves in - that He allows us to experience hardship for it is under the pressure of circumstance that what motivates our heart is revealed (Matthew 7:13-14, Proverbs 4:23). Does He arrange circumstances to crush us? Scripture tells us it is highly unlikely that He does. Yeshua said in this world we will have tribulation, that it rains on the just as well as the unjust (John 16:33, Matthew 5:44-46). What He does is to allow us to remain in the circumstance we encounter until our heart has been proved (Deuteronomy 8:2). It is in our response to those circumstances that determine what is in our heart – humility or pride. Like light and darkness, the two cannot occupy the same space at the same time – you will either have one, or you will have the other. It is only in the crucible of pressure, of fire, that our hearts reveal what we are truly motivated by (Luke 3:16). The purpose of testing is to see which way we will choose when faced with dire consequences – to keep His Way or our own (Luke 2:34-35). If we want to dwell in the Present Presence we must first humble ourselves by giving up control of our lives to Him – in spite of what we see or feel or hear or think. We relinquish that control of our lives to Him to the extent that if we perish physically, then, so be it - we perish. Our lives are in His Hand.
The promise we have is that IF we place ourselves in His Hand, NOTHING can snatch us out (John 10:27-30). It doesn't mean we won't get jostled, but we can be assured that we will remain in His Presence. The way we place ourselves in His Hand is the same way Yeshua exhibited His faith in the Father's Goodness. The same way Abraham exhibited his faith in the scripture at the top of this article which was accounted to him as righteousness – because he kept His Commandments, because he obeyed His Voice and, just as importantly, because he withheld nothing from him. These three go hand in hand – you can't have one without the other two (1John 5:7-8). Once we are in His Hand, however, the blessing we are afforded is that nothing can remove us from His Presence in Eternity – His Eternal Presence in the NOW.
The instructions we are given by the Father are two-fold, first by His Spirit and, secondly - as a means of validating what we hear to be the Revealed Essence of His Spirit - in Truth, the Torah. Torah means "instruction in righteousness, in Truth." Not forsaking one for the other, but as a manner of approach we must first hear His Voice as He has told us from the beginning (1Samuel 15:22). What we DO with the challenges life presents to us today IS our worship of the Father (John 4:22-24) and it is the test of our belief in the Goodness of Who He Is (see what it means To Believe). It is not always what we want to hear, but Hebrews 5:8 tells us that Yeshua, as our example, learned obedience through the things that He suffered. If His example is our instruction, why should we think it to be any different for us if our will is actively, purposefully, being conformed to His?
So, just how do we humble ourselves? How do we "put on" this garment of humility? Do we sit in sackcloth and ashes, as do the Jews, bemoaning our fate? Or do we prostrate ourselves on the floor repeatedly crying out how unworthy we are, as do the Christians? If you will notice, both of these approach YHVH from the perspective of us. If Yeshua is our example of how to occupy this space called "life", how did He humble Himself? Philippians 2:5-11 tells us that He became a servant, obedient to the Father's wishes regardless of what it cost Him – He withheld nothing, He held nothing back. He subjected Himself to the whim of circumstance, relying on the Father to redeem Him to the Father's will and purpose (John 19:9-11). He lived this humility right to the cross from where He cried, "Into Your hands I commit my spirit” (Luke 23:46). This was not the defeated last gasp of a dying man. Anyone who has studied Torah knows Yeshua was quoting Psalm 31:5 which says, "Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You WILL redeem me, YHVH God of Truth." He was proclaiming to the elements the faithfulness of the Father to redeem (Hebrew padah meaning to redeem by paying a price). Having lived it, He taught it – telling us that if anyone would come after Him they must first "deny themselves" (Matthew 16:24, Matthew 10:38). To be humble is something we "do" - as the Life Yeshua lived exampled for us to follow.
"Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God," 1Peter 4:1-2.
There are two types of circumstance – those that befall us in which we have no choice and those we bring upon ourselves a result of our choice. There is one where we choose to remain in the circumstance of life until the Father moves us, trusting in His Goodness by giving Him thanks; and there is another set of circumstances where we decide to take the reins of control into our own hands to remove ourselves from the forces afflicting us - we tire of waiting on the Father.
Yeshua Teaching What compromises our effectiveness in the Spirit to be used in the present is when we lose our focus as to who we are in Him in the midst of circumstances that surround us and challenge us. Far too often, we think we hear something that sounds like it might be Him and fail to measure it against His Revealed Essence – His Truth, the Torah. As we begin to make selfish choices that appease our flesh and not the Spirit, we get caught in the vise-grip of circumstance and wonder why. Hence, we need His Commandments, His delineation, His distinction, His definition of what comprises flesh and what is Spirit in order to make proper choices. They are our compass. Without them, when we abandon them, we lose our bearing and become overwhelmed by the consequence of our choices. How many believers, people who profess to know God, do you know today who are overwhelmed by the circumstance they find themselves in as a result of their own fleshly choices? They continually call out to friends and family to pray to God that their circumstance be changed instead of giving thanks to the Father IN and FOR their circumstance. They have made choices in the presence of the Presence that took them out of His Hand for we each have a free will the Father considers sacred – He will not force us into anything. That is why He tests us – to see what will surface in our hearts.
When we read John 10:27-30, we should think of "eternal life" as being in the Present Presence. How did Yeshua say we obtain that Life? He said to keep the Commandments (Matthew 19:16-22, Mark 10:17-21, Luke 10:25-28, Luke 18:18-22). He even repeated them so that there would be no mistake as to which ones He was referring to. Hence, to "hear" is to discern the Essence of the Father. To hear is to BE by remaining in the Present Presence. The Way we come into His Presence is to keep His words, His Commandments. He says if we will DO this, “My Presence will go with you and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:14).
The testing is not to punish us, but to see if we will keep the commandments of the Father – both of what is written and what He speaks to us – under the pressure of life's circumstances. Now, before you start copying and pasting volumes of scripture in an email to show me we are not "under the law". Stop for just a moment and consider this sampling of verses, just for what they say. There are a lot more that for brevity's sake are not included here – and these are all taken from the "New" Testament in the KJV.
"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ," Revelation 12:17.
"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments," 1John 5:2.
"Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God,” 1Corinthians 7:19.
"And he said unto him, Why do you call me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments, " Matthew 19:17.
Notice the distinction between keeping the "commandments of God" and the testimony "OF the faith" that Yeshua exhibited? These are two separate, distinct phrases. The last verse listed in Matthew comes from Yeshua Himself, pointing to His keeping of the commandments of the Father as His validation (see John 8:54-55). When we begin to comprehend that Yeshua, Peter, James, John and Paul did not bring anything "new" to the table in terms of the Nature and Character of the Essence of Life, that they were all pointing us back to the Father, the Source of Life – scripture takes on a whole different texture from what has been traditionally presented.
"And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure," 1John 3:3.]
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” Mat 22:37-40.
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity” 1 Corinthians 13.
How much love are we walking in? This is the deciding factor.
