An Analogy Of Our Walk

An Analogy Of Our Walk…

Having received and accepted the doctrines of men, it is a hard thing to break out of the box, to grow up in the spirit.  1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.   HE IS SPIRIT!   People want to see with the mortal eyes, in the realm of the flesh (limited physically & in understanding)... and look for an outward manifestation that takes them out of their limitations, without any effort on their part.  While God has made the way to do this, it is completely contrary to all natural thinking.  His will is to bring us up higher, For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring” Acts 17:28.  LITERALLY, we are to LIVE, MOVE, AND HAVE OUR BEING, in the SPIRIT!  When our thinking is earthbound, we cannot see spiritual realities.  He said, "It is finished".... but religion rejects this fact... by keeping fulfillment 'future.'
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” John 3:19.

“That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them” Mark 4:12.  Unbelief blinds spiritual vision/eyesight.  Seeing is key.  Believing beyond what we see (faith) is critical.

I was trying to think of an analogy and got this...

…Imagine all you have ever known is darkness, living in a dark cave with only dimly luminescent rocks for light.  Then someone strikes a match, and the darkness is dispelled for the twenty feet or so that the light from the match illuminates, and you see the light.  In the light you now see more than you ever saw before.  You see a path and start following it.  You don't get far, because the match burns out, and you need more light.  Another match is struck and you see to proceed a little further.  You are so amazed at the brightness of the match light, and cannot imagine anything brighter than that.  Then along the way, you see a torch lying alongside the path, and put the match to it.  It lights and burns much brighter than the match did, allowing you to see your surrounding much more clearly.  You are amazed at the blazing light of the torch, and now proceed much more confidently down the now more visible path.  In the torch light you can better see and avoid some of the stones that tripped you up when you were walking by the light of the match.

You realize that the path is leading you upward, that you are gradually climbing.  You did not know that there was a higher place than where you had always been, but now you can see the incline.  Already, all that you had known is behind you, in the darkness.  You cannot imagine what lies ahead.  With each step new images/understanding of your surroundings come into view.  There are many others all around you who dwell in the darkness, calling it 'all there is.'  Some are drawn to your light, and marvel at its brightness.  Some may join you in your pathway, and travel for a time alongside you.  But after some distance, they begin to long for their familiar surroundings.  They don't like the exposure the light brings.  They leave your side and return to what they have always known, as they are comfortable there.  But you keep pressing on.  The path becomes steeper, the obstacles loom larger.  Everything along this path requires focus to traverse.  The light causes the rocks and boulders and cast long, dark shadows that look menacing and foreboding.  You wonder where this path is leading you .  You are alone and all the sounds of your old life are distantly removed, left far behind you.  You look at the light, and it is burning strong and bright, dispelling the threatening darkness.  That same darkness that had been all you knew, now holds no attraction for you.   You love this light, and never want it to go out.  So you keep pressing on.

Now the climb is steeper than ever.  In the distance ahead you see another kind of light.   It is not torchlight, and you have no idea of its source.  But you can see the way ahead is illuminated.  Now you have reached a place in the path where it requires both hands to ascend.  You must make a choice.  Will you lay down this flaming torch which has lighted your way this far, leaving it alongside the path?  Will you turn back and return to the darkness that you left behind?  You determine to press on and lay down the Torch.  Now all your focus and energy are required to climb the final distance, overcoming all the obstacles strewn in the way.  The frightening shadows are falling behind you, while the light ahead is increasing with every step you take.   There is a final huge boulder to climb up and over... suddenly your eyes see an opening, and through it is the brightest light you have ever seen.  You are drawn towards this opening, and as you step through it, there are no words to describe the LIMITLESS vistas spread before you.  The light of the SON warms and strengthens you from your journey.  You breathe deeply; the fresh air filling your lungs.  The sights, smells and sensations of this whole new world embrace you.  The colors, the sounds, and the joy you have found is beyond anything you had ever imagined, while living in the darkness.

You lose all sense of time, just taking in this incredible new world you have entered.  Forgotten is the pain and struggle of your journey.  You are greeted by others who also found the path and freedom from the darkness.  Together you feast on the abundance that is freely there for the taking.  You are HOME!...

“To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” Luke 1:79.

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” John 8:12.

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness” John 12:46.

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me” Acts 26:18.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” 1 John 1:7.

“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: WALK AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT” Ephesians 5:8.

Amen & Amen
