Accountability

Accountability -

ALL OF US... will be held accountable. We would all do well to remember that nothing that we say, think or do is hidden from the eyes of God.

“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil” 1 Peter 3:12.

“And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears” Isaiah 11:3.

“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” Proverbs 15:3.

“All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits” Proverbs 16:2.

["There are those among you who I have called as eunuchs that you may serve and honour My bride in these coming days. You are the apostles, the prophets, the teachers, pastors and evangelists. I have appointed and called you to clothe her, instruct her and equip her. Be aware, that which I have appointed to you is a servanthood of the highest order and responsibility. For to you it is given to know My bride, touching her only with holy hands. You have heard it said "touch not my anointed." Indeed, many have uttered these words with no understanding or concept of that which they were saying. But now I say unto you: Touch not My anointed one with unholy hands! For the anointed one I speak of is My bride, and I charge you, servants who I have commissioned to this task, to guard your hearts and guard your ways with My bride. Do not fall into the ways of your fathers and brothers who failed to understand this calling and became too familiar with My bride, taking her as their own. She is not to be manipulated and handled as if she was your own, for she is Mine, says the Lord. Did you think I would choose those with unclean hands and impure motives to prepare My bride? Did you not know that those to whom I assigned this great honour would be tried and purified in my fiery furnace until all traces of fleshly motives and spiritual lust were purged from them? So be mindful, my children, my chosen servants, that though you are called to serve the bride, it is the Bridegroom who has called you and appointed you. Love My bride only through your love for Me, and in that way shall your love remain holy and pure towards her.

And I say to those who have overstepped the mark and become over familiar with My bride, failing to discern her through My Eyes: Hands off! Touch not My anointed! Turn now and let me cleanse your hearts and your hands that you may serve and equip My bride with the holiness she deserves and I require. Did you think I would suffer her to be pulled this way and that, held captive and subject to the weaknesses and lusts of man until the end? Did you think I would allow your traditions to over-ride my covenant with her forever? But no, those days come swiftly to an end, and out of My love for you I extend to you a warning and a cry to turn, repent and allow Me to cleanse and heal you. Then you will be prepared to join the company of those I have called to equip My bride to stand and conquer in these last days. My word to you is a word to awaken you. Let it be understood that though you serve the bride, it is the Bridegroom to whom you will give account.] Excerpt from Lleah's Week Is Over - Cheryl McGrath

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” Matthew 12:36-37.

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would” Galatians 5:16-17.

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” Hebrews 10:31.

How To Try the Spirits - A. W. Tozer

'How to Try the Spirits' is from A.W. Tozer's book,

'Man, The Dwelling Place of God,' and I found it to be even more relevant today than when it was written. There are 7 sections dealing with how to test spiritual experiences by asking...
"How has it affected my attitude toward and my relation to:"

1. God
2. Christ
3. The Holy Scriptures
4. Self
5. Other Christians
6. The World
7. Sin

THESE ARE THE TIMES that try men's souls. The Spirit has spoken expressly that in the latter times some should depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Those days are upon us and we cannot escape them; we must triumph in the midst of them, for such is the will of God concerning us.

Strange as it may seem, the danger today is greater for the fervent Christian than for the lukewarm and the self-satisfied. The seeker after God's best things is eager tohear anyone who offers a way by which he can obtain them. He longs for some new experience, some elevated view of truth, some operation of the Spirit that will raise him above the dead level of religious mediocrity he sees all around him, and for this reason he is ready to give a sympathetic ear to the new and the wonderful in religion, particularly if it is presented by someone with an attractive personality and a reputation for superior godliness.

Now our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, has not left His flock to the mercy of the wolves. He has given us the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit and natural powers of observation, and He expects us to avail ourselves of their help constantly. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good," said Paul (1 Thess. 5:21). "Beloved, believe not every spirit," wrote John, "but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1). "Beware of false prophets," our Lord warned, "which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matt. 7:15). Then He added the word by which they may be tested, "Ye shall know them by their fruits."

From this it is plain not only that there shall be false spirits abroad, endangering our Christian lives, but that they may be identified and known for what they are. And of course once we become aware of their identity and learn their tricks their power to harm us is gone. "Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird" (Prov. 1:17)

Response: Tests of All Things Spiritual

Some Helps in Recognizing 'Religious Spirits'...

Recognizing the 'Religious spirit'...

Here are some things to look for in helping to determine if the 'spirit' that is attacking you, is actually a religious spirit. This is needful in this hour, when confusion, envy, strife, jealousy, bitterness, and all the rest of the enemies arsenal are being unleashed against those who are striving to follow Christ. We are woefully ignorant of the tactics the enemy employs, and even more sadly lacking in the 'knowledge of the Lord.' By 'knowledge of the Lord,' I am speaking of 'knowing and being known of HIM,' not accumulating head knowledge about Him. There are more than enough religions in the world today, what we are in dire need of is the 'LIFE' ... 'Christ in you, the hope of Glory'... 'Living by the Spirit and not the flesh.'

These are some key points taken from "The Spirit of Religion or The Spirit of Holiness" by Cheryl Mcgrath.

... The Holy Spirit is even now leading the church into the conflict of the ages, the war against the spirit of false religion. The Holy Spirit and the religious spirit have constantly been at war since the creation of man, but as the time for the return of the Son of God draws nearer, this war is set to escalate dramatically.

"Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic." (James 3:13-15)

Fleshly wisdom cannot contend with Holy Spirit wisdom, for we are told after this that "no-one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore." (Matt 22:46)

...The religious spirit focuses on the power of sin, rather than the power of God

...The religious spirit leans to exclusivism and isolation, and satisfies itself with good works. It separates itself with the attitude - "I am good, you are bad, therefore you will contaminate my goodness."

...The religious spirit separates itself physically from the world through fear of defilement

...The religious spirit will stand against any new thing God does that does not fit within past experience

...The religious spirit often gives the devil too much attention and God too little glory

...The religious spirit loves to accuse by quoting scriptures but has no love of the truth

...The religious spirit confuses traditions of man with the holiness of God

...The religious spirit says "I have a holy tradition", but the Holy Spirit says "I require holy fruit"

...The religious spirit values experience above fellowship with God

...It values God for the "thrill sensation" rather than for His Holy nature

...It either craves feeling and emotion, or denies them altogether

...the religious spirit can also manifest itself through a life that seeks continual spiritual "experiences", rather than being rooted in the Word of God and a growing knowledge of Christ.

...Having failed to destroy the work of God by argument and accusation, the religious spirit will try to use confrontation and disdain

...This spirit upholds the authority of man and does not acknowledge the authority bestowed by God

...When confrontation doesn't work, the religious spirit appeals to the flesh (ego)

...The religious spirit will either deny and scoff at such things as miracles, healings and deliverance, or it will go to the opposite extreme and use supernatural power for its own gain

...The religious spirit is often so convinced of its own righteousness it is unteachable; It is divisive and factional

...The religious spirit often appears deeply spiritual, but in reality denies the supernatural power of God, trusting instead in it's own strength and self-righteousness

The religious spirit will also embrace compromise in order to avoid persecution.

...The religious spirit cannot embrace the Cross of Christ through fear of death

...Instead it embraces good works, the "law", because it believes in a system of punishment and reward

...It fears punishment, and craves reward

...The religious spirit displays a counterfeit holiness and a fleshly fear of God

Those who are coming into freedom from the religion of the flesh will always be persecuted by the religious spirit.

False religion will cause us to walk in the "goodness" of the flesh, rather than the righteousness of Christ. It's time to war against the spirit of religion, within ourselves, and wherever else we find it in the world or in the church.

How Does Your Garden Grow...?

How Does Your Garden Grow...?

Anyone who has a love of horticulture is familiar with the growing process of plants. Be it the large scale farmer, or the backyard gardener, the scale differs but the process is the same. Prepare the earth, plant the seed, water and patiently wait for the plant to grow to maturity. During the growth process, the sprouted seed must absorb nutrients from the soil, water and sunlight. It must develop strength to withstand the winds (of adversity), as well as the attack of insects that would devour it. Farmers use many methods to protect their crops from the elements of nature that would prevent them from obtaining a 'good harvest.' By way of analogy, (comparison), we are God's garden.

"The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof" 1 Corinthians 10:26. "Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is" Deuteronomy 10:14. And we, my friends, are 'the planting of the Lord'...

"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified" Isaiah 61:3.

The Power Of The Tongue

The Power of the Tongue

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eath the fruit thereof" Proverbs 18:21

"Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!" and "But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison" James 3:5-8

How often have we been guilty of saying... "Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred" Job 6:24? Or "Keep thy (my) tongue from evil, and thy (my) lips from speaking guile (deceit)" Psalms 34:13?

Unfortunately, not very often... if ever. What difference does it make... you may ask? Well, the Psalmist goes on to clarify:

"Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth" Psalms 34:14-16.

Jesus was just as direct in Matthew 12:37 "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

Condemned! Even remembrance of them cut-off from the earth! That sounds like some pretty serious consequences. Perhaps we would do well to pay a little more attention...

HIS Bride - David Wilkerson

HIS Bride – David Wilkerson

The Most Important Issue Of This Hour

Ten years ago, I wrote a book entitled, America's Last Call: On the Brink of a Financial Holocaust. In that book, I warned of the following events:

* There would be a meltdown of the bond market.

* God's judgment would strike suddenly on the U.S. economy.

* A brief, false sense of prosperity would precede the coming economic collapse. (This short flicker of prosperity would be God's final mercy call before the chastening to come.)

* There would be a real estate meltdown, with a market made up of mostly sellers and very few buyers. Multitudes would lose their homes to repossession.

* There would be an ominous rise of homosexual power.

* A sudden storm of confusion would take place on Wall Street.

* God's watchmen and prophets would be silenced.

* The U.S. dollar would collapse.

* America would lose control of its economy. To date, China has loaned America hundreds of billions of dollars. We have become the world's number one debtor nation, no longer in control of our finances.

Along with many other watchmen, I see that the greatest shaking of all is still to come.

The Kingdom Of God

THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Matthew 3:2 Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

The Gospel of the Kingdom is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What do we know and understand about the Kingdom of God? What is the Kingdom? Where is the Kingdom? How do we enter the Kingdom? Are there conditions that must be met? Who qualifies for citizenship in the Kingdom of God?

As professing believers, it is imperative that we know the answers to these questions. How ironic is it that even though the kingdom is the very heart of Christ’s message to mankind, today it is the least comprehended part of the Gospel message. Know that this ignorance on the part of believers grieves the heart of God. Let’s go to God’s Word for the answers to these questions.

What is the kingdom?

Romans 4:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

First of all, it is God’s Kingdom. It is the realm of God’s rule.

It is not a geographical or physical place; it is a spiritual place. God is a Spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
.
Our LORD gave us many parables concerning the Kingdom of God. Man always looks to the external rather than internally. The Kingdom of God is here, now. We are offered entrance to this Kingdom not made with hands when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, when we believe that Christ is the Son of God, that he paid the price for our sins, that he died and rose again and even now is seated at the right hand of the Father in heavenly places. The Jews living in the world when Jesus was here on earth were a people living under Roman occupation. Their concern was for their now, their focus was on the external; the physical, political, social conditions of that time. When Jesus came along declaring that he was come to bring the Kingdom of God to the world, they interpreted his words to mean that he was going to free them from Roman occupation, that he was going to install himself as King over Israel. This kind of deliverance was something that the people wanted. No one enjoys living under bondages. Most of those who followed Christ and heard him teach did not comprehend what he was saying. Just like people do today, they heard what they wanted to hear, and interpreted the meaning of Jesus’ words according to the desires of their hearts. It has been the same in every generation and age of man. We filter Christ’s words according to our carnal needs and wants, without ever grasping the spiritual applications. We have exactly the same words today to describe the Kingdom of God as the Jews of old received. Do we comprehend their meaning any better?

Good Master

GOOD MASTER

Matthew 19:16, 17 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, GOD: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

We are familiar with this story of the rich, young ruler. The account is recorded in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke. There is more that we can learn from this account, than what we see at face value. Firstly, notice how the man approaches Jesus, and how the Lord responds. He addresses Jesus as Good Master. He uses the term Good Master as a way of flattering and ingratiating himself to the Lord. There are many accounts in the Gospels where Jesus boldly states that He Is the Son of God, the Messiah. However in this encounter he responds quite differently. He does not claim His own position, instead he disclaims any goodness in Himself, though He Is the Son of God, and instead He pointedly asserts that there is none goodbut GOD. He does not succumb to the flattery of being called Good Master. He does not respond as many of us would with the attitude that “finally, someone recognizes me for who and what I am”. No, rather he makes a point of establishing that God alone is good. Jesus then goes on to tell the man that he must keep the commandments. Thou knowest the commandments. Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and thy mother. The man’s response is, All these have I kept from my youth up. The Lord then tells him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, and follow me. When the man heard these words, he was very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (wealth). Jesus is speaking here of a heart condition we all must establish for ourselves. Many today would think themselves exempt from the lesson contained here, due to the fact that they are not materially wealthy. What we need to recognize is that to be guilty of this love of mammon, this love of the things of this world does not require amassing a fortune like that of Bill Gates or Donald Trump. Some of the people who have the greatest degree of love of mammon, possess very little in terms of worldly wealth. Many Christians today hold a poverty mentality. In there minds, they equate being poor with being holy and righteous. Nothing could be further from the truth.

True Worship...

'But the Hour Cometh...'

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
(John 4:23-24)

I remember years ago wondering if we really understood what Jesus was saying in the above verses. It is not what worship leaders do with carefully orchestrated songs that are arranged in such away to “lead” the people into a “state” of worship in churches every Sunday morning. But rather it is worshipping him with our very lives.

The Lord “…desirest truth in the inward parts...” (Psalms 51:6).

Let us not be as the those the Lord speaks of “this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:" (Isaiah 29:13).

“For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.” (Psalms 5:9)

I will worship in Spirit and in Truth
Teach me discipline, to meditate on You
You gave up Your life, I must give my all to You
Remove the veil so I can see

Crush the pride that has blinded me
Forgive my hidden faults and bring the fear of God
Until Your dread’s in me

Grant me grace to see my wickedness
You must increase while I become less
Keep Your servant from wilful sin
So I’ll stand blameless before Your throne

ON LOVE....

From the book, "A Study Of The Book Of Galatians" by Les Wheeldon
"This is a definition of a truly spiritual man or woman, i.e. one who truly loves. Love is
not an attribute of God, for God is love. Therefore all of God's attributes are attributes
of love. He can never be anything else. Similarly, love is not to be an attribute of the
christian or a work, love is to be the ceaseless spring from which all of his life flows.
Without love a man is not a christian, without love a church is not a church. A
christian without love is a monster, a lamb with the heart of a wolf, at best an image
in stone, with a vague suggestion of something beautiful but no direct experience of it.
Love is without hurt or harm, it produces an inner calm in which other lives are
welcome and held in warmth and tenderness. Love dispels fears, reassures doubters,
and spreads joy in all it meets. There are kind words to answer harsh ones, there are
loving thoughts to refresh the soul. Love is not a work, though countless works flow
from it. It colours every action, every deed, and makes everything a manifestation of
that most perfect life - Jesus the Son of God.

Some wander from this path and think of life in the spirit as a life of power. The
centre of things can easily become what we achieve for God, we become performance
orientated, measuring our value to God and others by the statistics - how many
meetings held, how many souls won, how much fasting and prayer. All of these things
are wonderful but not in themselves the life. The greatest power in the realm of the
spirit is the power of love. Men give up, even the most determined, and the most
heroic, but love goes on for ever. Love carries within itself the power of self renewal,
for it never runs out. As it is poured forth, the greater the flow, the greater the
resources seem to be. Love is attractive, seeping into the chinks of the stoutest
armour. Love wins hardened cynics, and conquers stubborn rebels. It is in this realm
that christians are to live, and it is the cry of all who truly seek the kingdom of God -
Lord! make me love as God Himself is love!"

Soul Searching Required

Soul Searching Required…

Things around the globe are happening at such a rapid pace, it is hard to take it all in. People are practically falling over themselves trying to figure out how to fit the things that are transpiring into their ready-made doctrinal boxes. We have no shortage of labels ready to apply, just as soon as we can find a way to make them fit.

Is that what we were called to do? Are we really supposed to try and make people and events fit into our preconceived ideas? Is our focus supposed to be on other people… what they are doing and saying? Or is our focus supposed to be on the Lord God? Aren’t we supposed to be walking in the Spirit … hearing Him tell us where, when and how to move and speak and be in this world, or were we ‘called out’ so that we can do what seems right in our own eyes?

All of our lives, we have heard that the ‘last days’ were coming, and for many of us, great fear of how terrible they would be was planted in our hearts and minds. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24:21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” That things will be as bad as they have ever been is a given. Along with this fear, many people were offered an alternative way of escape… the ‘rapture’ teaching. As the sands of God’s timetable sift through the hourglass, men devise new ways and means of interpreting God’s Word to make it more palatable to our ‘flesh’… and as we read the book of Revelation, hear the prophecies concerning the end-times, (both old and new), escaping does sound pretty darn good. Deceptions today are at an all time high. Universal Humanism is fast becoming the globally accepted New World Religion. The greater appeal a new doctrine holds to man’s flesh, the broader acceptance if finds in the hearts and minds of those who call themselves ‘believers.’ In our generation alone, God has given us warning after warning… to prepare our hearts to receive Him; and man has found a way to nullify and make void those warnings, primarily by way of diverting the focus of our attention away from ‘pressing in to know Him,’ and toward a variety of ‘works’ and ‘activities.’

As the ‘Apostasy’ within the ‘Church’ has grown, so has there been an increase of those who feel it is their ‘calling’ to expose these errors. However, what began with good intentions seems to have a way of taking on a life of its own as it goes along. It is sad, but many who started out sounding a warning cry against grossly false teachings, end up becoming ‘witch-hunters’… labeling everyone with a view different than their own as being ‘false’…which means that they have inadvertently set themselves up as being the ‘only one with the truth.’ They spread their message across the internet and via whatever venue is open to them, fully convinced that they are ‘called to set the record straight.’ In the process, they themselves have become part of the problem, and are in fact doing as much or more damage to the ‘Body of Christ,’ than those they are exposing. We have an over-abundance of the ‘pot calling the kettle black’ throughout the Church world.

Regardless of whether a person is in or out of organized religion… with all of the ‘labels’ we have created to define and describe the multitude of teachings and practices flourishing today, is it any wonder that confusion is rampant? How many times have you been introduced to someone, or just heard about them, and depending on the denomination that they are affiliated with, have immediately pigeon-holed them without a second thought? “O, one of ‘them,’” without any leading of the Spirit… or giving the accused a chance to be judged on their own merits. No, we fall back on our ‘knowledge’ and our own ‘prejudices,’ justifying ourselves in the process. Perhaps the reason that the ‘world’ doesn’t want any part of what we have to offer, is because we look and act just like them, only we have the audacity to be self-righteous, critical and judgmental to boot.

Whatever happened to… “They will know we are Christians by our love?”

It is amazing when passing judgment on others, how quickly we forget our Lord’s warning found in Matthew 7:2 “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Somehow, in our way of thinking we fail to make the connection… that as we find fault, criticize, and yes, pass judgment on others… we can fully expect to receive the same kind of judgment ourselves. I dare say, that thought does not cross our radar screen. In our mind, we are nobly defending the truth... at least our perception of the truth. We usually don’t give a second thought to ‘turning the other cheek,’ or praying for the deceived soul we are attacking either, as we are engaged in “fighting the good fight.” 1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” Well, we got part of it right, anyway… our justification might be, “well, at least we were fighting something!”… or not.

Love one another:

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself Matthew 22:37-38.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law” Romans 13:8 .

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another Galatians 5:13 .

“But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another 1 Thessalonians 4:9.

“For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another” 1 John 3:11.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love 1 John 4:7-8.

We are sadly lacking when it comes to fulfilling what our LORD decreed to be the second greatest commandment… “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

It is troubling that we show great concern for how we conduct ourselves in the world, yet when it comes to the ekklesia (called out ones, Body of Christ), we feel justified in employing whatever kind of abusive language and behavior we deem necessary in order to make our point. There seems to be almost an obsession with people… that they are RIGHT! And whoever gets hurt in the process of striving to establish their ‘rightness,’ is of little to no consequence. This widely prevalent attitude is purely carnal, of the FLESH… and no amount of white-wash will ever make it right.

We All need to be very careful of the words that we speak. Having the full knowledge that it is written, “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” Matthew 12:36.

This must have been a problem for the early Church as well, for James had a good deal to say regarding our words, and how we use them on one another…

The Tongue:

“If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain” James 1:26.

“Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be James 3:5-10.

There is an insightful little Psalm of David, from which we can learn much…

“LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?

who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly,

and worketh righteousness,

and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue,

nor doeth evil to his neighbour,

nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned;

but he honoureth them that fear the LORD.

He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury,

nor taketh reward against the innocent.

He that doeth these things shall never be moved

Psalms 15:1-5.

Speak the Truth In Love…

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love Ephesians 4:14-16. If we are truly ‘born again,’ we are all parts of the same body.

When we open our mouths, we cannot help but to expose our hearts. All too often, the attitude our words project comes across in a way that we never intended. We are very capable of being completely blind to the attitude that we project to others. If any of ‘self’ rises up in us, we need to learn to recognize it and lay it down. Self-righteousness, self-justification, self-defense, self-preservation…and all the other ‘self’ motivated reactions are deadly to our spiritual walk. Every one of us seriously need to learn to wait on the Spirit… before shooting off our mouth. We cannot foresee the damage our words can do, not only to others, but to our own walk as well. It should also be noted that people who are operating in pride, arrogance, and from an attitude of spiritual superiority, never see it in themselves. They will usually see themselves as being someone who is very humble, that just happens to be ‘right.’

We are called to Build one another up… not Tear each other down:

“According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” 1 Corinthians 3:10-11.

“Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire 1 Corinthians 3:12-15.

We seldom consider that we also are going to be judged:… by our words, our actions, our heart attitude, all these things are open and evident to God. How we treat others is of great importance. Our responsibility is this…

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love Ephesians 4:15-16.

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” Ephesians 4:12-13.

We are not capable of meeting the requirement to all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ”… in our own strength or from our own understanding.

KNOWLEDGE is what the mind of man seeks after; but knowledge alone can be a dangerous thing. “…Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth” 1 Corinthians 8:1. We need to “…know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” Ephesians 3:19. Otherwise, we are “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” 2 Timothy 3:7. Which is… “Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27. “God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles” …by HIS SPIRIT!

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power” Colossians 2:6-10.

It is all of God, “not of works, lest any man should boast.” No where in His Word, does God ask us to ‘figure it all out.’ In fact, He requires the exact opposite from us… “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein” Mark 10:15. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven” Matthew 18:4. Child-like faith and trust are absolutely required, along with obedience.

If we are basing our righteousness on what we know, we are in deep trouble. Until we come to the place where we can lay down all of our knowledge, all of our desires, laying everything at the Master’s feet, and be willing to ‘suffer the loss of all things,’ we are our own worst enemy. ‘We’ are what stands in the way of our walking in the fullness of God in this world. Our ‘flesh’ has only been modified, it has not been crucified. Until we come to the end of our ‘self’… we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God at least not in the capacity that we are being called to. We may yet be saved, ‘so as by fire,’ but will miss out on the best that God has prepared for us. Jesus is the ‘pattern Son,’ we are called to follow Him, all the way to the death of self, that we might live by the power of His Spirit within. Talk about mysteries, they don’t get any bigger than this!

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men” John 1:1-4.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly John 10:10.

We only have two options, life or death. If you don’t think that any of this applies to you, that there is no need for you to search your heart, then chances are very good that you are already deceived.

Choice 1: “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ Ephesians 4:15.

Choice 2: “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved” 2 Thessalonians 2:10.

How we treat others does matter…. “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently” 1 Peter 1:22. “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth” 1 John 3:18. Did you notice how John addressed them… “My little children”?

There are many ‘truths’ being propagated in the world today, but none that can compare with God’s Truth… and after all, His Truth is the only Truth that matters. If we would know God’s Truth, it will only be because He reveals it in our hearts by His Holy Spirit. Thanks to the ‘man-centered’ Beast that religion has grown into, God’s Truth has long been cast aside… while our focus has been redirected away from ‘taking up our cross,’ and jumped ahead to ‘ruling and reigning,’ attempting to make ourselves the ‘head and not the tail,’ (see Deut. 28), without any consideration for keeping the requirements to be the head. The flesh of man wants all of the glory, and none of the pain, which is why it must be crucified. “That no flesh should glory in his presence” 1 Corinthians 1:29.

Our hearts cry in this hour should be… “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts” Psalms 139:23. Fully realizing … “And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know” 1 Corinthians 8:2.

In the hour in which we are living, we should take God’s admonition to “Prepare” very seriously. Our survival, spiritually and physically, depends on it.

“For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul” Hebrews 10:30-39.

Are we prepared to face the fiery judgment of the Living God? Are we prepared to be made a spectacle, to be railed at, persecuted, suffer anguish, and watch as those we love are attacked? Are we prepared to joyfully accept it when our property is pillaged, spoiled, taken away? Is our faith based on God’s faithfulness, or will we draw back at the first sign of trouble?

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” John 1:12.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” Romans 8:14.

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world ” Philippians 2:12-15.

We are even now being confronted with the gross darkness Isaiah prophesied of… Isaiah 60:2 “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” Now is the time to check our lamps, to guard our hearts, to seek the Lord while He may be found. Tomorrow may be too late.

“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man” Luke 21:34-36.

May we come into agreement with God in all things….till from a pure heart we can truly say… ‘Not my will, but thine be done.’

Amen & Amen

The Leaven of the Pharisees & Sadducees

The Leaven of the Pharisees & Sadducees
by
Keith Chadwell

The truth is the truth, no matter what we believe. However, as the Spirit of God opens the eyes of our understanding in these days, we may discover we have been stumbling over obstacles to the truth in the scriptures that were not targeted for true Christians. The “strong delusion” described in 2nd Thessalonians 2:11, is clearly such a mystery obstacle

It is clear that this mysterious obstacle, in 2nd Thessalonians 2:11, is an obstacle sent by God to those who would not receive the love of the truth. Its purpose was to create a great delusion in those who reject the truth. This delusion or obstacle was sent by God so as to cause rebellious unbelievers to believe a lie and therefore they would be unable to see the truth. However, sadly, many true Christians have stumbled over this type of obstacle down through Church history as well and… without excuse. Because we can’t say we did not have ample warning, as we will soon see.

As true Christians, His truth is ours by promise and rightful inheritance:

Joh 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And (then) ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

However, like many of the promises of God to his children, there are

conditions to appropriation which the Church, in some cases,

has obviously missed.

Choose This Day....Whom You Will Serve

Choose This Day, Whom You Will Serve

Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

The future is upon us people... we cannot afford to hide our heads in the sand any longer. There is no time left for petty squabbling and backbiting. Life as we have always known it here in the West is about to take a drastic change, and the life we have known will be no more. While Christians are engaging in fighting amongst themselves, gathering followers after themselves, and focusing on themselves and their version of 'being right,' the enemy has been unleashed to bring the judgment of a Holy God upon the heads of an unholy people. Throughout the ages, God has used men to bring His judgment upon other men, and this generation is no different. Make no mistake, God is in absolute control. Even the righteous must face judgment. Satan had to get God's 'permission' to test Job, who was a righteous man. If God allowed Job to be tried, to suffer the apparent loss of all things, what makes us think for one minute that we are better than Job?...that we will somehow escape all judgment and just fly away somewhere? 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? We are going to find out what the end will be of them that refuse to obey. And if we have any wisdom at all, we will turn to seek the Lord God with our whole heart. Fearful things are already set in motion for the globalization of every people, every nation, and all religions.

[Quote]
Fundamentalism is a worldwide threat.” The way it has to be countered, he maintained, is to change the view that salvation depends on playing by certain religious rules: everyone is saved.” ....In a world that is becoming increasingly globalized by the blending together of economies, peoples, laws, cultures, religions and social ethics, these types of dogmatic religious assertions will not be tolerated.

“What we have here is world governance and world religion beginning to come together in a common utopian purpose to establish a global order without the Christ of the Bible and without the missionary encumbrance of Christian evangelism. The purported reason behind these gatherings is the establishment of peace on Earth," Morrison points out, "but the real intention is the eradication of the Christian gospel." [End Quote]

New Religion for a New World

A Calendar of Events on World Change - 2009

We can look
at the information provided on the above links, and it is a sobering wake-up call. But that is not enough. Jesus explicitly told us that these things must come to pass (Matt:24). It is not enough to attach yourself to a Pastor, Teacher, Leader in any capacity... Jesus called us to 'FOLLOW ME'... to 'LIVE BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT'...nothing less will prepare us for the things that are coming upon the world. We have not been called to 'figure out the end-time events'... to find just the right translation, or the right person to listen to. We have been called to "know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death." We can expect exactly what Jesus told us to expect:

"Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you, and you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.... But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved" (Matt. 24:9-13).

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).

"Be ye therefore not like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him" (Matt. 6:8).

These verses sound 'unattractive' to our flesh (which abhors all suffering), but we can have the blessed assurance that even when there is suffering involved, the Lord always makes a way. It may not be a way that we would have chosen for ourselves, but we can trust in Him that it will do a needed work in us, to bring us into conformity to His image, that when we see Him, we shall be like Him. The rise of evil in the world today is a reality, it is also part of God's plan. If we would know how to walk in the midst of this gross darkness, we must be living in vital union with our Lord and Savior. "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world" (Php. 2:15).

May our lights shine brightly!!!
